A MEDICAL team from Taiwan is returning to Papua New Guinea to offer
medical services to the people.
They will spend one week in the country from
August 9 to 16.
The team comprises of a world-class radiation oncologist,
medical imaging doctor, pathologist and enterostomy therapist. They will offer
medical services, including clinical training and assistance in establishing
standard operation procedures in pathology checking.
The team will donate
1000 pieces of colostomy irrigation bags to the Angau Memorial General Hospital
and the PNG Stoma Association. The team is led by Dr Nina Kao, the chief
executive officer of the Overseas Medical Mission Centre of the Changhua
Christian Hospital, in Taiwan.

Chun-Pu Hu believes Taiwan’s high quality service can complement other donors’
contribution to cancer awareness and fundraising in PNG.
It is the sixth
visit by the Taiwan medical team to PNG.
They previously focused on treating
PNG citizens with eye problems offering services such as operations and
treatments for cataracts.
