THE Port Moresby General Hospital (PMGH) is overloaded with Covid-19 patients and needs more personal protective equipment such as masks and gloves, an official says. Hospital chief executive officer Dr Paki Molumi said face masks and gloves were supplied by the Health Department but demand had increased due to the higher number of Covid-19 patients. “The 16 Covid-19 beds at the hospital are full,” he said. “We need to reopen the Rita Flynn Covid-19 Centre urgently to take the load off PMGH.” The hospital needs masks, gloves, beddings, disinfectants, bottled water and dispensers, food, empty container freezers and toiletries.
National Capital District Health Authority acting health secretary Ken Wai told The National that Rita Flynn was open with 45 beds. Yesterday afternoon, 10 beds were occupied. The National / PNG Health News NExt : Doctor Urges PNG Government To Bring In COVID-19 Vaccines Comments are closed.
