PNG records 219 new Covid-19 cases, total surpasses 8,800

PAPUA Papua New Guinea recorded 219 new Covid-19 cases at noon on Monday, raising the country’s total number of infections to 8,821.
Covid-19 National Pandemic Response spokesman Chief Supt Dominic Kakas, in a statement, said to date, 21 provinces had reported Covid-19 cases and that the death toll was 69.

The 12 provinces that recorded new Covid-19 cases were: Autonomous Region of Bougainville; National Capital District; Central; East New Britain; Western; Milne Bay; West New Britain; East Sepik; Eastern Highlands Province; Morobe; Jiwaka; and Southern Highlands.
