PNG Parliament has been told, P-N-G has not confirmed any suspected cases of the coronavirus. Health and HIV minister Jelta Wong is urging the general public not to believe fake news and rumours. He said his department and other agencies are working around the clock to prevent the virus from entering the country. Minister Wong, however, urged all citizens to look after their hygiene. Meantime, Papua New Guinea now has a proper National Emergency and Response Plan to respond to the Novel Coronavirus. The plan was developed by the National Department of Health. Minister Jelta Wong made this known while providing an update on the measures taken by the Department and relevant agencies and their response to prevent the virus from entering the country. Mr. Wong also announced that the National Executive Council has already appropriated funding for the implementation of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan.
