The Papua New Guinea NATIONAL Pandemic Response Controller David Manning says Prime Minister James Marape was cleared of his Coronavirus (Covid-19) status to return to work on Wednesday. In a statement released on Friday, Manning said the premier was cleared after completing 14 days of isolation and seven days of being asymptomatic. Manning urged people, including the media not to mislead the public on the PM’s Covid-19 status. He highlighted the fact that the National Control Centre medical team, led by the deputy controller Dr Daoni Esorom ensured that the PM’s situation was handled professionally and he was cleared to return to work in accordance with the set clinical and isolation guidelines.
Marape went to China on Feb 3 and was tested positive upon arrival. He was forced to abort the French leg of his trip to China and France and returned to Papua New Guinea on Feb 6 where he was isolated until he was cleared last week THe National / PNG Health Watch Next : Plans To Jab Frontline Workers In PNG General Elections Comments are closed.
