FOUR new Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases were reported recently, bringing the Papua New Guinea's total to 35,966 confirmed cases up until Tuesday, an official says. National Pandemic Response deputy controller Dr Daoni Esorom said Morobe had a new case and the National Capital District had three. He said 114,705 tests were conducted in NCD from Jan 16, last year to Dec 14. Out of the tests conducted within that period, 9,311 tested positive which included three new ones recently bringing total positive cases to 9,314 in NCD. The report stated that Morobe conducted 13,328 tests in the same period and had recorded 2,491 positive cases, including a new case recently – bringing the provincial total to 2,492.
He said the country’s total deaths known as of Tuesday, were 585, total recovered 35,162, no new deaths and 627 Delta variant cases. “From the reports, the epidemic curve is going down,” he said. “I believe that shows that we are recovering from the Delta surge earlier on and now we will prepare ourselves for the new variant Omicron.” Next : Make Plan Work, Doctor Urges Health Workers Comments are closed.
