A FULLY-RENOVATED aid post building was delivered to Yambo villagers in ward 6, Labutal local level government (LLG) in Morobe’s Nawaeb last weekend. The aid post was funded by the Bank South Pacific (BSP) under its community service initiative which focuses on education, health, sports, environment and other areas. Speaking at the official handover of the building to the community, Lae Top Town branch manager Bevilon Homua said BSP’s commitment was not only to be the best financial service provider but to ensure that the welfare and needs of its customers and stakeholders were also looked after. “There are many such facilities and other important basic services that will really help the rural folk,” he said.
Many projects had been neglected and the people suffer.” Homua said BSP would come up with a theme and engage its employees from different branches – strategic business units and subsidiary branches nationwide – to go out to communities and research on the type of community service a particular community needed in line with the theme. “This is a yearly thing that the bank does as part of its appreciation and service back to its customers,” he said.
