THE healthcare of more than 14,000 people will be improved when the Bosset Health Sub-Centre in the Middle-Fly district of Western is upgraded. The K9.87 million project delivered under the PNG-Australia Partnership Incentive Fund was launched by Australian High Commissioner Bruce Davis and Western Governor Taboi Awi Yoto on Monday. Davis reinforced Australia and PNG’s shared commitment to strengthening health services in remote and rural areas.
“In the time I have spent here in PNG, I know how important it is to invest in rural healthcare, particularly here in Western province where maternal and child mortality and TB are significant challenges.” he said. “For Australia, this is a crucial priority in our partnership with the Government of PNG. This Catholic Health Services (CHS) Kiunga-owned and operated health facility will be brought up to a level three standard.
